HMCA Announces New Board Members    

Miami, FL (March 28, 2005) – The Hispanic Marketing & Communication Association (HMCA) announced today four new board members: Suzanne Irizarry de López of Bilingual Research Services, Sylvia Nieto-Vidal of Multicultural Insights, Juan Guillermo Tornoe of The Wizard of Ads, and Richard Velez of MASS Promotions.

Suzanne Irizarry de López is Director of Business Development for Bilingual Research Services (BRS), a unique supplier of dual-language (Spanish/English) telephone interviewing for consumer research and public opinion polling. BRS is based in what the U.S. Census named the most bilingual city, El Paso, Texas. A native of Puerto Rico and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School of Communications, Suzanne has been doing Hispanic market research since the early 90’s and has also worked as educator, simultaneous interpreter, social worker, and journalist.

HMCA Announces Upcoming Events

Miami, FL (March 24, 2005) – The Hispanic Marketing & Communication Association (HMCA) announced today it will co-sponsor five national events in the first half of 2005. Association members are eligible for discounts of 10-15 percent on these events as follows:

MFM Trade Meetings will again present Innovations in Hispanic Marketing 2005, April 6-7, 2005, in Miami, FL, at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove. HMCA Presents Roundtable Discussion on Broward Hispanics

Fort Lauderdale, FL - The Hispanic Marketing & Communication Association, HMCA, will offer a seminar entitled "Broward Hispanics: Insights on Broward's Newest Immigrants,What the Statistics Don't Tell You" on Wednesday June 4, 2003 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event, hosted by the Sun Sentinel/El Sentinel, will be held in the main floor of the Sun Sentinel Auditorium- 200 East Las Olas Blvd. The panelists include the Honorable Diana Wasserman-Rubin, Mayor Broward County Board of County Commissioners; Frank Nieves, President Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Broward County, Deborah Ramirez, Editor El Sentinel, Gonzalo Soruco, Ph.D., Director of the University of Miami Hispanic Center (Oficina de Investigación Social y Comunicación), Denise Fischer, Manager of Research/Marketing Services, Sun-Sentinel, and Carlos Reyes, shareholder of Greenberg Traurig.
