Hola
Broward The migration of Hispanics to Broward County has bloomed in recent years. According to recent statistics, the County's Hispanic population almost doubled in the last couple of years. The demand of professional and bilingual-proficient personnel is rising, and many of these highly qualified executives are moving north of Miami-Dade County. Organizations like Hispanic Unity of Florida, Mujeres Latinas Impulsando Mujeres Latinas and the Latin Chamber of Commerce, all operating in Broward, are being recognized for their leadership role in supporting the residential and business Hispanic communities. Diana Wasserman, recently elected as a Broward County Commissioner, is the first Hispanic in such position. Specialized media is also advancing. Local community newspapers like El Correo and El Noticiero cater the spanish-speaking population in Broward. The HMCA is organizing a roundtable focusing on the market trends of Hispanics in Broward County for the first semester of 2001.
